Head of Union

Kia ora Koutou. Ko Denise Torrey tōku ingoa. He tumuaki ahau ki te kura tuatahi o Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo.

I have been a principal since 2003 and much of that time I have passionately advocated for tamariki, kaiako and principals. I am Past President of CPPA and mentor post quakes, advocating for the welfare of our communities. My advocacy continued in 2015 as President of the NZPF advocating for leadership advisers, increased resources for Te Ara Hou o Aotearoa (MAC), and the wellbeing of tamariki of Canterbury. Mana Ake is the result, and this work continues. NZPF is a membership driven organisation and many members are saying it’s time for a change. A bespoke union will give us our own voice, as there is a sense that ours has been lost in the competing needs of others. It’s an honour to continue my advocacy in the role of as PPCB’s “Head of Union”.
